Dewi de Waaij received her bachelor degree for Medicine at the VU University of Amsterdam in 2015. She started her medical internships in june 2016.
During her internship in 2011 at the laboratory of Immunogenetics at the Department of Medical Microbiology and infection control, she worked on Chlamydia trachomatis infections. She studied genetics that influence the susceptibility and severity of a Chlamydia trachomatis infection.
In 2013 Dewi started working as a PhD candidate. Her research is mainly focused on the epidemiology, immunogenetics and microbiological aspects of sexual transmitted infections.
