Anne Ammerdorffer, PhD

Anne Ammerdorffer studied Biology at the Wageningen University (graduated 2011). She performed her master thesis at the Department of Virology (WUR) investigating the inhibition of apoptosis by dengue virus. Subsequenly she examined the Type 1 Interferon response during cerebral malaria at the Queensland Institute of Medical Research (Brisbane, Australia).

Her PhD project focused on the innate immune responses against Coxiella burnetii in humans and goats. It was a succesfull collaboration between the Internal Medicine Department of the Radboudumc and Wageningen Bioveterinary Research. After her PhD she moved to Switzerland to work as a postdoc at CHUV (Lausanne, Switzerland), where she investigated the immunopathology of Waddlia chondrophila.
